Play Golf While Keeping Cool on Florida’s First Coast

Don’t let summer keep you off the golf course. Here’s how to make sure your golf game is the only thing that gets hot during your visit to Florida’s First Coast

Summertime is here and the temperatures are rising throughout Northeast Florida, but don’t let that keep you off the course. We are here to make sure your golf game is the only thing that gets hot during your visit to Florida’s First Coast.

Here are some helpful tips on how to stay cool during your time on the course -

Play Early

Enjoy cooler temperatures and fresh greens with an early tee time during your visit to Northeast Florida. You’ll beat the mid-morning rush and be wrapped up in time for lunch.

In addition to the cooler temperatures, you’ll have the rest of the day for exploring the beaches, breweries and more throughout Florida’s First Coast.

No matter what time of day you are outside, never forget to use sunscreen. The last thing you want to happen on your golf vacation is to get a sunburn – and it can happen easier than you think!

From the back of your neck to the top of your legs, be sure to bring along some SPF 40 sunscreen on the course.

While umbrellas are typically used for rain, they also come in pretty handy for sunny days! Bring an umbrella along with you on the course to block out the sunshine. You’ll look cool and feel cool too. Plus, if an unexpected raincloud comes along, you’ll be prepared to stay dry too.

Stay Hydrated

Drinking plenty of water will keep you hydrated and more active on the course. Sport drinks are also good for hydration, but beware of their calorie intake with certain brands and flavors. And stay away from alcohol on the course. Surprisingly, it actually dehydrates you. So, drink up on the water before your game and while you’re on the course to keep cool.

Light Colored Clothing

Light colored clothing reflects the heat, so stay away from dark colors on the course. Nike’s Dri-Fit Polo shirts are a great way to stay cool on the course. Available in both men’s and women’s styles, the breathable fabric and Dri-Fit technology soaks up the sweat leaving you dry and ready on the course. Jacksonville’s new PGA Tour Superstore carries this breathable style of polo along with other weather-appropriate apparel. Stop in and pick up some things so you can stay cool on the course.

Plan Your Visit

And after your golf game is over for the day, relax in the a/c at one of our many accommodations, ranging from Downtown Jacksonville’s nightlife to soaking up the sunshine and ocean breezes in an oceanfront resort.
