Get into the Swing of it Along Florida’s First Coast of Golf

Florida’s First Coast of Golf is well known for the diversity of courses from which golfers can choose. Courses suitable for all skill levels can be found. But before tackling the 17th-hole island green at the TPC Sawgrass, golfers of all skill levels can fine tune their game at the regions leading golf schools.

“We are very fortunate to have some of the best teaching pros in the game here along the First Coast,” explains David Reese, Florida’s First Coast of Golf, Inc. “The PGA TOUR Golf Academy at the World Golf Village is a prime example of this.”

The PGA TOUR Golf Academy at the World Golf Village, St. Augustine, is the only teaching academy to bear the PGA TOUR name and offers a full schedule of two- to five-day golf schools, private lesson and more. The TOUR Academy believes in building a solid foundation and promises to improve a student’s G-P-A, or Grip, Posture and Alignment.

Further north at Amelia Island Plantation, Ed Bowe serves as the director of golf instruction. Bowe has a proven track record as a golf instructor and has written books, articles and starred in instructional videos with PGA pro Nick Price. He also serves as the director of training for ESPN’s Golf Schools and is the former director of Golf Digest Schools.

The Ponte Vedra Inn & Club’s golf academy utilizes the most current technology to support teaching. Each student receives a high-speed, stop-action videotape analysis of their golf swing. Then, students work with an instructor to study swing flaws and make corrections. A split-screen feature allows students to actually compare their swing side-by-side with the world’s best players.

The Hampton Golf Academy features an outstanding staff of instructors who are all PGA certified, and have years of successful instruction experience. The Academy offers a wide range of instructional options and is offered at facilities at multiple locations throughout the region: The Golf Club at North Hampton, Fernandina Beach, The Golf Club at South Hampton, St. Augustine, and The Grand Club, Palm Coast, and Grand Haven, Palm Coast.

Whether you need to improve your drive, middle irons or putting, golf instruction along Florida’s First Coast of Golf will help you improve your game and lower your handicap.
