Each fall, legends from the game of golf embark on a pilgrimage to St. Augustine, Fla., to honor the new World Golf Hall of Fame inductees. This year is no different. On Nov. 12, an international television audience will witness the induction of six new members to the Hall.
Joe Carr - This Lifetime Achievement honoree, who will be inducted posthumously, is the first to be selected from Ireland.
Hubert Green - This PGA TOUR champion was selected through the Veteran’s category.
Charles Blair Macdonald - Acknowledged as the “father of organized golf in America” and one of the founders of the USGA, will be posthumously honored in the Lifetime Achievement category.
Kel Nagle - This Australian competitor will be honored in the Veteran’s category.
Se Ri Pak - A reigning star of the LPGA achieved the criteria necessary for induction after just 10 years on Tour.
Curtis Strange - This notable PGA TOUR star was elected on the PGA TOUR ballot.
The induction ceremony will begin just after dusk, on an outdoor stage at the Hall of Fame. This year’s class will be welcomed by fellow Hall members, fans, family, and friends. The ceremony is free and open to the public.
During the ceremony, inductees are presented with a hand-crafted crystal trophy, commissioned by Waterford Crystal. Exhibits are open to the public on the day of the Induction Ceremony to celebrate the new class, and their personal items of selection are added to the Member Locker Room exhibit.
Travel packages for the induction are also available. There are three different options for guests. The two-night Reserved Ceremony Package includes accommodations, seating in the reserved section at the Hall of Fame Induction, commemorative brick on the Walk of Champions, and a Friends of the Hall of Fame Membership. The two-night Induction Ceremony plus Gala package includes the above, along with entrance to the post ceremony Gala in the Hall of Fame, breakfast and private tour with a Hall of Fame member, and a Hall of Fame Induction gift. The three-night Golf and Gala Package includes the above and two rounds of golf at the King & Bear and the Slammer & Squire.
