The combination of great weather, World Golf Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, and THE PLAYERS Championship are sure to attract visitors to Florida’s First Coast of Golf and that includes members of the media. Besides the hundreds of media members ranging from The New York Times to The Golf Channel who come to cover the tournament, this year the area hosted both radio and digital personalities who love and cover the game. I’ll let you in a secret, a lot of those members of the media come to play golf when they are not covering the events.
About.com’s Blair Howard attended the tournament and blogged about his trip to the area. Orlando Golf Blogger was excited to make their first trip to the area and to the tournament. Michigan Talk Network hosted two live radio broadcasts from the World Golf Hall of Fame for the Induction Ceremony which honored such luminaries as Ernie Els and President George H.W. Bush.
The stars really aligned this year for a thrilling tournament that featured a playoff between eventual winner K.J. Choi and David Toms. With a crowd approaching 30,000 on the course watching, the 17th hole again made all the difference.
Sorry you missed all the fun? It’s never too early to plan for next year or better yet, take advantage of great summer deals and visit now!
