When booking a golf getaway, it never hurts to have some diversity in the golf courses you’re playing.  Sure, everyone likes a challenge, but then again spending half your time in a hazard or bunker can make for a frustrating round of golf.  Every once in a while it’s nice to throw in an enjoyable round of golf where you don’t have to feel like you’re losing an entire pack of golf balls.

Palm Harbor Golf Club, located in Palm Coast Florida, is just the venue for a stress-free round of golf on Sunday afternoon.  With narrow fairways, and playing 6,609 yards from the back tees, most holes encourage good course management rather than just length off of the tee, making many of the greens accessible for most players.  With undulating greens and bunkers; however, you have to have a well placed approach if you want to have a good shot at birdie.

When playing the course for the first time, it’s important to keep in mind the hidden water hazards on some of the holes.  If you’re not careful, you could very easily find yourself pulling out the ball retriever.  For example, both the par-5 third and par-5 fifteenth might appear to invite a long second shot at the green; however, hidden water hazards running up to the greens can turn your eagle chance into a scramble to save par.

Water hazards aside, most holes on the course are straightforward and inviting.  The appropriate mix of fairway bunkers and length make for an ideal level of difficulty for the Sunday golfer looking for a relaxing round of golf.  The slopes of the greens do make for a nice challenge as well, but with most putting true and at an average pace, you’re not going to have to spend an hour and a half on the practice green adjusting to the speed.

A quick side note, make sure to stop into the clubhouse at the turn and order one of Lauren’s homemade Bloody Marys, along with a club sandwich to help you through the back nine.  No matter what kind of round you’re having, you’ll at least have a good snack and a cold beverage.

Whether you’re down on vacation or planning a golf getaway, make sure to keep in mind Palm Harbor Golf Club.  You’ll be sure to have a relaxing round of golf for a great price.
