Northeast Florida’s premier golf tournament returns March 10-15, 2020 with THE PLAYERS Championship as the world’s best players compete on an international stage at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass

Check out our travel guide to make the most of your time at this year’s tournament -

Arrive Early

Make plans to get to the course early! A1A is the main route to the tournament with traffic backing up during peak times of the tournament. The earlier you arrive, the better as traffic is at its peak between noon and 2 p.m. daily.

If you are staying inland, take advantage of the CR-210/Nocatee Parkway route rather than A1A. You’ll avoid delays and have a scenic view too.

Stay Hydrated, Eat Well and Avoid Sunburns

With temperatures in the 80s during the day, the two most important things to keep in mind – stay hydrated and apply sunscreen. Often. Take advantage of shaded areas and hydrate throughout the day – on water, not just alcohol.

For great eats, check out Trucks on 10, featuring at taste of Northeast Florida’s local food truck scene. And don’t miss the popular Tacos on 12 with great tacos and drinks from Jacksonville Beach’s own TacoLu.

What to Wear

With high temperatures, preppy and comfortable are the norm for Northeast Florida’s premier golf tournament. Ladies, don your favorite sundress, but leave the heels at home (you’ll be walking in grass all day!) and men, avoid flip flops. Go for comfort and you’ll fit right in with the crowd.

Looking for a Deal?

Interested in bringing the family along for the tournament? Kids 18 and under get in free throughout the tournament. Families can take advantage of THE PLAYERS Family Pass that includes two adult Stadium passes, unlimited youth admission and two $10 food vouchers. All active duty, reserve, retirees and dependents of the military receive complimentary admission throughout the week along with access to the Birdies for the Brave® Patriots’ Outpost, a hospitality tent with complimentary food, beverages and activities – just for military and their guests.

Explore the Area

After the tournament has ended for the day, visit Pusser’s or Nona Blue in Ponte Vedra and enjoy craft beers on tap and catch all the highlights of the day’s tournament. One of Nona Blues' founding partners is the 2010 U.S. Open Champion, Graeme McDowell.

Another area hotspot after the tournament is Palm Valley Fish Camp, featuring seafood and great views along the Intracoastal Waterway or head down to Jacksonville Beach and explore the nightlife.
