David Reese, President
David Reese is globally recognized for his 26 years’ experience in travel industry development, sales/marketing and association management. He is known as a results-driven executive with numerous successes in strengthening market position, revenue and profitability. His experience with both public and private sectors has resulted in broad-based managerial experience. Reese has extensive experience in legislative affairs and public advocacy programs. Reese has successfully secured public funding from five tourism municipalities for Florida’s First Coast of Golf at a rate of 100% over 26 consecutive years.
In the private sector, Reese secures and manages over 61 industry partners annually increasing the private sector funding to a 50/50 match. Through results and relationships, Reese has accomplished the successful goal to be “the agency of record” for all golf related advertising in the NE FL region for both public and private sectors.
Currently, Reese serves as President of Florida's First Coast of Golf (FFCG), a golf destination marketing company located in Jacksonville Beach. He oversees the operation of the 501(c) 6 organization that is designed to promote golf tourism to northeast Florida. Since his arrival in 1996, the FFCG advertising and promotional budget has increased 21-fold and leads its competitive set in numerous performance metrics.
Under Reese’s direction, FFCG received numerous State, national and global awards including the prestigious VISIT FLORIDA Henry Award for best tourism-based website in the State and North American Golf Destination of the Year from International Association of Golf Tour Operators.
Reese serves had has served on several boards including VISIT FLORIDA’s Executive Committee, Visit Jacksonville, Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association, International Association of Golf Tour Operators, Jacksonville Sports Council and SKAL International.
Specializing in regional cooperation, Reese has expanded the role of FFCG to accompany any initiative where two or more counties have an interest. Reese has led marketing initiatives with Air Canada, Allegiant and Spirit Airlines for route development and support resulting in additional or larger aircraft servicing Jacksonville International Airport. Reese is currently working on a regional brand, Florida’s Northeast Coast, to address the international market for all tourism market segments.
Reese began his career as a convention sales manager for the Jacksonville Convention and Visitor’s bureau. Reese earned his bachelor’s degree in marketing with an emphasis on hospitality management from Florida State University.
As an active participant in the community Reese serves several local charities including Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Katie Caples Foundation, YMCA, THE PLAYERS Championship, World Golf Hall of Fame and his church.
On a personal note, Reese is married to Amy with two children, Mackenzie and David residing in Jacksonville Beach, Florida.
