Ponte Vedra is home to THE PLAYERS Championship, one of the PGA TOUR’s most prestigious and watched events. Witness the incredible competition this year from March 9-14, 2021 at THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass.

Please note, due to COVID-19 and safety concerns, some events and activities may be canceled or altered. Please check the event’s website for the latest information.

What is THE PLAYERS Championship?

THE PLAYERS Championship takes place every year and brings thousands of golfers to the area as they compete for one of golf's most sought-after titles. The week-long event is full of incredible matches, exciting events, and more. This year, the event is operating at 20% capacity, so if you aren't able to go this year, you are still able to stream the Tournament for free.

The Course

THE PLAYERS Stadium Course at TPC Sawgrass is one of Pete Dye’s masterpieces. It was built to challenge professionals and create an exciting experience for spectators. This world-renowned, Par 72, 7,215-yard course is home to one of the most challenging holes in golf, the “Island Green” 17, and is the crown jewel of Northeast Florida.  It is one of the highest-ranked golf courses in the state and challenges even the sport's toughest players.

The Events

While the championship itself is a must-see, there are plenty of things to do and fun experiences to have inside and outside of Tournament Week. Whether you want a few autographs, plan to visit the World Golf Hall of Fame, shop at the PGA Tour Superstore, play a game at Slammer & Squire or Hidden Hills Golf Club, or want to hear live music, there is no doubt Northeast Florida is full of things to do.

Northeast Florida is the ideal family-friendly destination. Whether you visit during THE PLAYERS Championship or another time of year, there is plenty to do with the kids. Golf resorts such as Sawgrass Marriott Resort & Spa and Omni Amelia Island Resort offer activities, clubs, and events to keep your little ones occupied while you focus on your game. Children can also get involved in the sport with junior lessons offered by most golf courses and resorts, including St. John’s Golf and Country Club and The Jones Course at LPGA International.
